Job summary

Canadian Kraft Paper Industries Ltd in The Pas is seeking a Journeyman Pipefitter to fabricate and install piping and valves, hydrotest systems, and assemble pipe spools.

The role requires a Red Seal or 4th-year apprenticeship, proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills, ability to read blueprints, independent work ethic, and strong safety record. This is a unionized, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Pipefitter Red Seal Certification or 4th year apprentice
• Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Prefer 3 years’ experience
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to assemble equipment and follow work procedures & processes
• Ability to work independently and take initiatives
• Strong work ethic and safety record
• Strong interpersonal skills; both verbal and written communication required

Responsibilities

• Fabricate/Assemble piping and valves
• Hydrotest, assemble and install pipe spools in the facility
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
• Other duties as requested

Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Journeyman Pipefitter’s responsibilities will include:

• Fabricate/Assemble piping and valves
• Hydrotest, assemble and install pipe spools in the facility
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
• Other duties as requested
