Job summary

Canadian Kraft Paper Industries Ltd seeks a skilled Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to perform corrective and preventative maintenance on Kraft Paper production equipment in The Pas. The role requires a Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification, strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities, and at least a few years of maintenance experience.

You will read blueprints and follow procedures, work independently, and uphold strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certification.
• Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Three years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance is beneficial.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to assemble equipment and follow procedures.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong work ethic and safety record.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment in a production environment.
• Maintain pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, gearboxes, bearings and hydraulics used in Kraft Paper manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as part of a team; disassemble/reassemble machinery and overhaul equipment.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance program for plant equipment.
• Work safely and maintain housekeeping standards and quality checks.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Performing corrective and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment in a production environment
• Maintaining pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, gearboxes, bearings and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing process of Kraft Paper
• Working as part of a team to troubleshoot and repair equipment, including disassembling and reassembling machinery and overhauling equipment, etc.
• Maintaining a preventative maintenance program for plant equipment
• Performing work in a manner consistent with plant safety, housekeeping standards and quality checks

• Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certification
• Proven mechanical and trouble shooting skills
• An asset to have 3 years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to assemble equipment and follow work procedures & processes
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Strong work ethic and safety record

This is a unionized position. The starting wage is $46.48 hourly as per the Collective Agreement with full certication.
