Job summary

Clean Harbors Fort McMurray AB is seeking a Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our safety-focused team. You will maintain, inspect, diagnose, and repair a fleet of vehicles and equipment in a camp-style work environment.

The role offers a 14-on/14-off rotation for commuters or 7-on/7-off for locals, with travel allowance and camp provided (Ruth Lake Lodge) or COLA for locals. Starting wage is $48.15/hour with full benefits after 30 days and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with 3+ years of field experience.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Experience with hydraulics and vacuum trucks is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety practices and complete FLHAs/JHAs and related safety analyses.
  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair light- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform routine and specific maintenance on company vehicles and equipment; complete repair orders.
  • Communicate servicing needs with Supervisor and maintain warranty documentation.
  • Mentor apprentices as a journeyperson when applicable.

Clean Harbors Fort McMurray AB is looking for a Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their safety conscious team!

The ideal candidate will be responsible for routine maintenance, inspections, and repairing of all company fleet.

11.5hours/day there is a 14 on/14 off rotation for commuters OR 7on/7off rotation for locals to Fort McMurray area. We provide turnaround (radial) travel allowance & camp provided (Ruth Lake Lodge), or COLA for locals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
  • Complete and follow all Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs)
  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform routine and specific maintenance on company vehicles and equipment.
  • Complete repair orders.
  • Communicate equipment servicing needs as required with Supervisor.
  • Complete and maintain warranty and maintenance documentation.
  • Disassemble, inspect, fit and replace worn or broken parts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through regular housekeeping activities.
  • Journeypersons may mentor apprentices
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed/Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic.
  • 3+ years' experience working as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic.
  • Previous experience working with Hydraulics is an asset.
  • Previous experience working on Vacuum Trucks is an asset.
  • Ability to use (J Pro) diagnostic software
  • Class 5 Driver's License required.
