Job summary

Clean Harbors Fort McMurray AB is seeking a Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic to join a safety-focused team. Responsibilities include inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on light- and heavy-duty equipment, plus routine maintenance and warranty documentation.

The role offers a 14/14 or 7/7 rotation with rotation-based travel allowances and camp accommodations. Ideal candidates are licensed journeymen with 3+ years of experience; hydraulics and vacuum truck experience are assets.

Qualifications

• Licensed/Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• 3+ years' experience as Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic.
• Hydraulics experience is an asset.
• Vacuum Trucks experience is an asset.
• Ability to use J Pro diagnostic software.
• Class 5 Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow safe work practices.
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on light and heavy-duty vehicles/equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance and complete repair orders.
• Communicate servicing needs with Supervisor and maintain warranty/maintenance docs.
• Disassemble, inspect, replace worn parts, and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Journeypersons may mentor apprentices.

Clean Harbors Fort McMurray AB is looking for a Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their safety conscious team!

The ideal candidate will be responsible for routine maintenance, inspections, and repairing of all company fleet.

11.5hours/day there is a 14 on/14 off rotation for commuters OR 7on/7off rotation for locals to Fort McMurray area. We provide turnaround (radial) travel allowance & camp provided (Ruth Lake Lodge), or COLA for locals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
• Complete and follow all Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs)
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine and specific maintenance on company vehicles and equipment.
• Complete repair orders.
• Communicate equipment servicing needs as required with Supervisor.
• Complete and maintain warranty and maintenance documentation.
• Disassemble, inspect, fit and replace worn or broken parts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through regular housekeeping activities.
• Journeypersons may mentor apprentices

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed/Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• 3+ years' experience working as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic.
• Previous experience working with Hydraulics is an asset.
• Previous experience working on Vacuum Trucks is an asset.
• Ability to use (J Pro) diagnostic software
• Class 5 Driver's License required.
