Job summary

Kal Tire is hiring an Automotive Service Technician in Wabush, NL, to perform routine maintenance and advanced repairs at our Mining Tire Group location. You’ll work hands-on on a variety of vehicles, mentor apprentices, and advance toward a Lead Technician role.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified).
• A valid driver’s license.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Familiarity with VMAC is an asset; training available.
• Experience in inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing, and repairs on various vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general mechanical services, including brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor and coach apprentices to support skill development.
• Collaborate with a team on vehicles from standard passenger cars to light trucks.
• Identify potential service opportunities in partnership with the Sales team.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety and quality in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified
• A valid driver’s license.
• Brings a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with front-end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Familiarity with VMAC (Vehicle Mounted Air Compressors) is an asset; training available
• Experienced in performing inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
