Kal Tire is seeking a Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician for our Wabush, NL location to perform routine maintenance to complex repairs on a range of vehicles within the Mining Tire Group. This full-time role emphasizes safety, quality, and career growth in a supportive team setting.

You will mentor apprentices, collaborate with a skilled team, and work toward becoming a Lead Technician while enjoying comprehensive benefits and a clear advancement path.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Red Seal).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with brakes, suspensions, and wheel alignments.
• Experience in inspections, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
• Attention to detail and methodical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform brakes, suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor and coach apprentices in a learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a skilled team on vehicles from standard passenger cars to light trucks.
• Identify potential service opportunities in partnership with the Sales team.

• Perform a wide range of general mechanical services, including brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor and coach apprentices by sharing your expertise and supporting their skill development in a learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a skilled team while working on various vehicles, from standard passenger cars to light trucks.
• Identify potential mechanical service opportunities in partnership with the Sales team.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety and quality in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified
• A valid driver’s license.
• Brings a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with front-end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Familiarity with VMAC (Vehicle Mounted Air Compressors) is an asset; training available
• Experienced in performing inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
