Job summary

Carmichael Engineering in Calgary, AB is seeking a Journeyman Plumber to install and maintain piping, tanks and valves in water and HVAC systems. The role is on-site at our Calgary location, with an on-call rotation to support client sites.

We will also consider Apprentice Plumbers of 3rd year or higher. Ideal candidates hold a Journeyman certification, have a clean driving record, and can work in tight spaces. Boiler experience is an asset and health & safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have 3rd year apprenticeship or Journeyman certification.
• Ability to install piping, tanks and valves in water systems and HVAC.
• Clean driving record and valid drivers abstract.
• Experience with boilers is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled plumbing tasks and install piping, fittings, tanks and valves.
• Maintain and repair plumbing, heating, ventilation, gas, fire protection and site drainage.
• Keep van clean and organized; be on-call in rotation.

Salary Range:

Local 488 Union rates

Job responsibilities:

• Ability to Perform skilled plumbing tasks in installing piping, fitting, tanks and valves in water systems and hot water systems, including mains and branches; and maintains and repairs plumbing, heating, ventilation, gas, fire protection, and site drainage.
• Comprehension of plumbing system fundamentals, and design
• Maintain a clean, organized van
• Be available as the on-call technician one week on a regular rotation

Requirements:

• Positive attitude, flexible, and a team player
• 3rd year - Journeyman Plumbing certification
• Must be able to work in tight spaces
• Clean driving record, and drivers abstract
• Service experience would be an asset
• Work with our Health and Safety team to promote safe work practices
• Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment
• Boiler experience, also an asset.
