Job summary

OCL Group is seeking an experienced Journeyman Pipefitter for an ongoing Enbridge project in Alberta. The role includes a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation and camp accommodations are provided.

Candidates must hold a Journeyperson Pipefitter Certification and have prior industrial construction experience. Safe work practices and mentoring apprentices are key expectations on this project.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Pipefitter certification required.
• Experience in industrial construction environments.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol tests.
• Physically able to perform demanding duties in variable weather.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and work from blueprints, isometrics and specs.
• Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install valves, pipes, fittings.
• Install valves, pumps, fittings, supports and controls.
• Troubleshoot and repair piping systems as needed.
• Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on site.
• Mentor Apprentice Pipefitters.
• Keep work area clean, safe and organized.
• Follow client/site safety policies and procedures.

Job description

The Role

We are currently recruiting for experienced Journeyman Pipefitters to join our team join our team join our team for an ongoing Enbridge project.

The schedule is a 10 days on, 4 days off rotation (10/4), and camp accommodations are provided.

Compensation/Benefits

• CLAC hourly wages
• Payday is every Friday
• Company contributed RRSP & Pension contributions
• Benefits after 300 hours
• Paid training
• 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on regular earnings
• OT at 1.5 after 8 hours per day

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and work from blueprints, isometric drawings and specifications
• Expertly measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass valves, pipes, fittings
• Install valves, pumps, fittings, supports and control systems
• Troubleshoot and repair piping systems as required
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with OCL standards, industry codes and applicable regulations
• Mentor and provide guidance to Apprentice Pipefitters
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
• Comply with all company, client and site-specific safety policies and procedures

Skills/Qualifications/Education

• Journeyperson Pipefitter Certification
• Previous experience in an industrial construction environment
• Valid safety tickets (OSSA, CSTS-2020, WHMIS 2015, H2S Alive, First Aid, Fall Protection, AWP, Confined Space)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work with cranes and rigging-pick out the appropriate size weight ratings
• Physically capable of performing job duties including but not limited to: bending, lifting and working in various weather conditions
• Ensure a safe team environment
• Adhere to all company and worksite safety and quality processes and procedures
• Strong communication skills
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
