Job summary

OCL Group Inc. is hiring Journeyman Pipefitters for upcoming projects across Edmonton, AB area. You will read blueprints and install valves, pumps and piping systems.

Ideal candidates hold a Journeyperson Pipefitter Certification, are registered apprentices, and have industrial construction experience plus safety tickets such as H2S Alive, WHMIS 2015 and First Aid. You must be able to work independently and pass pre-employment drug tests. OCL Group Inc.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Pipefitter Certification required.
  • Must be registered as an apprentice or journeyman.
  • Industrial construction experience preferred.
  • Valid safety tickets: H2S Alive, WHMIS 2015, First Aid.
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret and work from blueprints, isometric drawings and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install valves, pipes, fittings.
  • Install valves, pumps, fittings, supports and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair piping systems as required.
  • Maintain compliance with OCL standards, industry codes, and regulations.
  • Mentor Apprentice Pipefitters.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures on site.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Journeyman Pipefitters to join our team for an upcoming work at various locations in and around the Edmonton, AB area.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Read, interpret and work from blueprints, isometric drawings and specifications
  • Expertly measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass valves, pipes, fittings
  • Install valves, pumps, fittings, supports and control systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair piping systems as required
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with OCL standards, industry codes and applicable regulations
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Apprentice Pipefitters
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
  • Comply with all company, client and site-specific safety policies and procedures
What We Are Looking For
  • Journeyperson Pipefitter Certification
  • Must be a registered apprentice
  • Previous experience in an industrial construction environment
  • Valid safety tickets: H2S Alive, WHMIS 2015, First Aid
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with cranes and rigging-pick out the appropriate size weight ratings
  • Physically capable of performing job duties including but not limited to: bending, lifting and working in various weather conditions
  • Ensure a safe team environment
  • Adhere to all company and worksite safety and quality processes and procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
