Job summary

OCL Group Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Pipefitter/Steamfitter for a camp-based project in Latornell, AB. The role involves reading piping isometrics and project drawings, and installing valves, piping and fittings to required specs.

You will mentor apprentices and uphold safety standards on a physically demanding site. Red Seal endorsement is preferred, with industrial construction experience and valid safety tickets.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Pipefitter/Steamfitter with Red Seal endorsement preferred.
• Industrial construction experience (mining, oil & gas, heavy industrial) preferred.
• Must have safety tickets: H2S Alive, WHMIS 2015, CSTS-2020.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
• Physically able to work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs, and project drawings.
• Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass valves, pipes, fittings.
• Join pipe sections and secure in position.
• Use test equipment to check systems for leaks.
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems.
• Mentor and train apprentices in safe work practices and trade skills.
• Complete tasks in line with OCL and industry standards, procedures and practices

About The Role

We are looking for experienced Journeyman Pipefitters to join our team for a project based in Latornell, AB. This is a camp based position with a variable schedule.

This is a clean-shaven site. **FR clothing or coveralls are required and the responsibility of the employee to bring. Must also have CSA strips (FR), Hard hats, CSA ankle support boots

Duties/Responsibilities

Education/Skills/Qualifications

• Journeyman: Certified Journeyman Pipefitter/Steamfitter with Red Seal endorsement preferred.
• Previous industrial construction experience (mining, oil & gas, heavy industrial) preferred.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including climbing, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must have valid safety tickets (H2S Alive, WHMIS 2015, CSTS-2020 (or equivalent)
• Standard First Aid is an asset.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
• Valid driver’s license, clean drivers abstract and ability to pass pre-employment requirements.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
