Job description

Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician

Cranbrook, British Columbia | Four-Day Work Week

Why Work Here

At New West Truck Centres, we believe a great career shouldn't come at the expense of the life you've built outside of work. Located in the heart of British Columbia's East Kootenays, our Cranbrook branch gives you the opportunity to build a rewarding career while enjoying one of Canada's best outdoor lifestyles. Imagine finishing your shift and being on the golf course, at the lake, on a mountain bike trail, or at home with your family in minutes instead of sitting in traffic. With world-class skiing, hiking, fishing, mountain biking, golfing, camping, and countless outdoor adventures just outside your door, Cranbrook offers a lifestyle that's becoming harder to find. A four-day work week gives you more time to enjoy everything the East Kootenays have to offer.

Whether you're relocating from across the country or already call the Kootenays home, this is an opportunity to build a rewarding career while enjoying a lifestyle that's hard to match.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Four-day work week

  • Competitive wages with overtime opportunities to maximize your earnings

  • Additional hourly premiums through training, certifications, and licensing

  • Clean, organized shop with modern equipment

  • Ongoing training with experienced Shop Foremen who support your development

  • Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates

Treated Well.

Your skill and dedication do not go unnoticed here. This is a workplace where effort, reliability, and leadership on the floor are recognized and rewarded. You'll work alongside knowledgeable Shop Foremen who bring deep technical expertise and steady leadership. Our culture is collaborative, respectful, and built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Our technicians' voices matter. Feedback from our Service team helps drive real improvements in how we operate.

Trained Well.

Technology continues to evolve, and so do we. We invest in your long-term success through manufacturer training, hands-on mentorship from experienced technicians, and ongoing in-house learning opportunities. Unlike many fleet environments where you'll see the same equipment every day, you'll gain experience working on a wide variety of heavy truck makes and models, trailers, and specialized logging and mining equipment. Every day presents new diagnostic and repair challenges that broaden your technical knowledge, strengthen your troubleshooting abilities, and help you become a more versatile technician.

Paid Well.

We offer more than just a competitive hourly rate.

  • Journeyman hourly wage of $47.45-$56.45, based on experience, certifications, and qualifications

  • Additional hourly premiums through manufacturer training, certifications, and licensing

  • Health Spending Account
