Job summary

New West Truck Centres in Calgary, AB is seeking a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy trucks, trailers, and specialized equipment in a modern shop.

Starting wage is $43.45 per hour with premiums for licenses and certifications, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life insurance, EFAP, boot and tool allowances, PPE, and ongoing training to advance your skills.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
• Experience repairing commercial trucks.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and commercial equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Complete Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIP) when licensed.
• Diagnose and repair Detroit Diesel, Cummins, and other heavy‑duty engines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, steering, brake, and air systems.
• Complete repairs that meet manufacturer and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation.

Paid Well

Starting Journeyman Wage: $43.45 per hour

What You'll Do

As a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and commercial equipment while delivering safe, high‑quality repairs that keep our customers on the road.

You'll:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and commercial equipment

• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections

• Complete Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIP) when licensed

• Diagnose and repair Detroit Diesel, Cummins, and other heavy‑duty diesel engines

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, steering, brake, and air systems

• Complete repairs that meet manufacturer and safety standards

• Maintain accurate repair documentation

What You'll Bring

• Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification
