Job summary
New West Truck Centres in Cranbrook, BC seeks a Body Shop Technician to perform collision repairs on commercial trucks and heavy‑duty equipment. Pay ranges hourly and relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
You will work with a skilled team in a modern, ICBC‑accredited facility, following OEM repair procedures and safety standards. Training is offered to apprentices and ticketed technicians alike.
Qualifications
- Red Seal certification or in-training status with strong auto body focus.
- Experience or training toward heavy-duty collision repair is beneficial.
- Commitment to delivering quality workmanship and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural and non-structural collision repairs on heavy-duty machinery and trucks.
- Repair and replacement of panels and body components following OEM procedures.
- Prepare surfaces, sand, prime, and align panels; assist with refinishing as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and support safe shop practices.

Hourly Wage: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

We're looking for a Red Seal Auto Body Repair Technician or a registered third-year apprentice who wants to build a long-term career repairing commercial trucks and heavy-duty equipment.
Commercial vehicle experience is considered a strong asset, but candidates from automotive collision shops looking to expand into heavy-duty are encouraged to apply.
I-CAR Platinum certification is also considered an asset.
- Perform structural and non-structural collision repairs on commercial trucks and heavy-duty equipment
- Repair and replace damaged panels and body components
- Complete panel alignment, fitment, and adjustments
- Perform tear-downs and rebuilds
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, grinding, masking, and priming
- Assist with refinishing work based on experience
- Follow OEM repair procedures and quality standards
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality workmanship
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Assist fellow technicians when required
- Properly maintain tools and equipment
- Support safe work practices and shop cleanliness
- Work collaboratively to meet production goals
- Red Seal Auto Body Repair Technician or
- Registered third-year Auto Body Apprentice
- Valid driver's licence
- Personal hand tools
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship
- Commercial truck or heavy-duty collision repair experience
- I-CAR Platinum certification
- Experience working within ICBC repair standards
- You take pride in producing quality repairs.
- You're dependable and show up ready to work every day.
- You're coachable and committed to continually improving your trade.

- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Summer Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Evenings and weekends are yours to enjoy.
