Job summary

PTW Energy Services in Redwater, Alberta is hiring Journeyman Electricians to join our branch team. The role involves interpreting drawings and electrical code specs, installing and maintaining motors, drives, switchgear and control circuits across industrial sites.

You will size and install panels, conduits and related equipment, perform testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance, and follow lockout/tagout procedures in a construction/industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Reads drawings, blueprints and electrical code specs to plan installations.
• Tests electrical components for continuity, current, voltage, resistance.
• Installs and repairs AC/DC motors, drives, switchgear and control circuits.
• Sizes and installs circuits, panels, conduits and protective devices.
• Fabricates and commissions conduit runs, panel work and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Read drawings and schematics to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment.
• Test equipment for electrical parameters and ensure proper operation.
• Install and repair motors, drives, transformers and control systems.
• Run and terminate electrical wiring and conduit per code.
• Ensure circuits meet code requirements and perform preventive maintenance.

Journeyman Electricians - Redwater

POSITION

PTW is hiring Journeyman Electricians to join our branchteam in Redwater, Alberta.

A DAY IN THE LIFE…

• Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Installs, examines, replaces or repairs AC/DC Motors and Drives, PLC's, 480V power, 120V control circuits, 4160 volt switchgear, transformers, motors, starters, relays and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical controls.
• Installs, examines, replaces or repairs electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
• Sizes and installs electrical circuits including panels, wire size and type, conduit, protective devices, switches, and related equipment needed to comply with the CEC and/or NEC.
• Fabricates, installs and/or runs conduit, 3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Journeyman Electrician status.
• Experience working in a construction or industrial environment.
• Must have a knowledge of and ability to interpret the Canadian Electric Code.
• Must be proficient in fundamentals of lockout/tagout.
• Must have basic knowledge of industrial control logic (ladder logic).
• Must be familiar with burner control Systems - flame sensing systems, associated safety devices and logic, burner modulator controls; must understand and be able to troubleshoot.
• Experience with AC & DC motors and drives.
• Must be experienced in performing preventive maintenance tasks, taking corrective action for repairs, and be knowledgeable in electrical equipment installations.
• Must understand P&ID's.

TICKETS REQUIREMENTS

• H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, AWP & EMP, Fall Protection, ESTS.
• Must have own transportation as most locations are not accessible with public transportation.
