Wilco Contractors Northwest is hiring experienced Foremen to lead crews across grading, earthworks, water/sewer, hardscape, and related civil work in the Edmonton area. You will mentor teams, plan execution, and ensure safety and quality on high‑profile projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as construction foreman or superintendent (civil preferred).
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Ability to read plans and grade stakes, use levels.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews to safely and efficiently execute construction activities.
• Plan, execute, verify quantities, and ensure quality control on site.
• Communicate project needs to the Superintendent (manpower, materials, equipment).
• Coordinate daily activities based on priorities and schedules.
• Supervise use of equipment and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Mentor crew members and promote safety and teamwork.
• Monitor subcontractors for compliance with specs and schedules.
• Promote a positive, accountable team culture focused on safety.

About You

Key Responsibilities

• Lead crews in the safe and efficient execution of construction activities.


• Actively participate in field construction, including planning, execution, quantity verification, and quality control.


• Communicate upcoming project needs to the Superintendent, including manpower, materials, and equipment requirements.


• Coordinate daily work activities based on project priorities and schedules.


• Supervise the safe and effective use of equipment, tools, and machinery.


• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Wilco's high-quality standards.


• Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules.


• Train, mentor, and develop crew members in accordance with Wilco procedures and safe work practices.


• Foster a positive team environment built on accountability, communication, and safety.

• Proven experience as construction superintendent or foreman, civil preferred.


• Must possess strong leadership/mentorship and interpersonal skills.


• Solid understanding of equipment operation.


• Strong numeracy skills, record keeping and technology usage.


• Ability to read and execute plans, read grade stakes and use laser level.


• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment.


• Work Unsupervised with a 3-5 person crew.


• Have advanced knowledge of the fundamental principals of landscaping including grading, planting and hardscape.


• Promote a positive team culture across all departments and job sites with a focus on safety first and continuous improvement.


• Valid drivers license.
