Journeyperson Carpenters and Apprentices

Full Time Field Labour Edmonton, AB, CA

Requirements
  • Available to work weekends, nights, and out of town as needed.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, and safety.
  • Proficient at: wood backing, framing, hanging doors, drilling and setting door hardware, setting windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, reading blueprints, utilizing appropriate math skills.
  • Learn and actively practice essential carpentry skills on the job.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Set up and maintain tools for your supervising carpenter.
  • Own transportation, valid driver's license with satisfactory driver's abstract.
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.
  • Productive in a team environment.
  • Ability to operate a skid steer and rough terrain forklift is considered an asset.

This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a construction work environment.   • Able to work at varying heights, including the use of ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms.
  • Capacity to work in confined or awkward positions, in a range of environmental conditions, including outdoor and variable weather conditions.
  • Able to safely and efficiently operate hand tools and power tools for prolonged periods.
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend and crouch frequently.
