Job summary

Wood Automotive Group is seeking a skilled Journeyman Automotive Technician to join our team at Big 4 Motors in Alberta. The role requires strong diagnostic abilities, experience across brands, and a background with electrical diagnostics, drivability concerns, and engine/transmission work.

Ideal candidates will diagnose and repair vehicles, perform road tests, and conduct AMVIC and safety inspections while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with electrical and drivability systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and brakes.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair vehicles according to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform electrical, drivability, engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brake, and diagnostics and repairs.
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs to verify concerns and ensure repairs are completed correctly.
• Perform routine maintenance, AMVIC inspections, out-of-province inspections, and safety inspections.
• Communicate diagnostic findings and recommended repairs with the Service Advisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and proper care of tools.
