Job summary

Summit GM in Fort McMurray, Alberta is seeking a skilled Automotive Journeyman Technician to perform high‑quality diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on customer vehicles, following OEM standards.

The role requires Red Seal certification, strong diagnostic abilities, and dealership experience. You will collaborate with the Service team, mentor apprentices, and uphold safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certified Automotive Technician or equivalent.
• Proficient in diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.
• Experience in dealership settings with OEM repair systems preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles following OEM guidelines and safety standards.
• Inspect, identify repair needs, and provide accurate documentation for repair orders.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using OEM approved equipment and tools.
• Complete warranty repairs in accordance with OEM requirements and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors to communicate repair needs, timelines, and technical findings.
• Mentor apprentices or junior technicians as assigned by the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
