Job summary

CIBC is seeking an Intermediate Java Developer to join the Digital and Contact Center Technology group in Toronto. You will design and implement APIs for CIBC’s digital channels, including online banking and mobile offerings, while embracing modern patterns and cloud migration.

You will work hands-on with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices to deliver scalable enterprise solutions. You will also mentor junior developers, participate in continuous improvement, and collaborate with

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of Java/J2EE development experience in an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience with API development and microservices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Kubernetes, Azure) is a plus.
• Familiar with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Experience with RESTful, SOAP, and JSON web services.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop APIs by analyzing requirements and following system architecture.
• Improve processes and code quality through best practices and collaboration.
• Support operational activities and performance tuning across environments.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team.
