Cognizant in Toronto seeks a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot. You will build RESTful APIs, optimize SQL, and script in Unix/Linux to support deployments and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in enterprise Java application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17 or higher.
• Proven expertise with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Experience developing and supporting RESTful APIs.
• Strong SQL and database development skills, including query optimization.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments and developing shell scripts.
• Experience working within Agile software development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Build, enhance, and support RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries to ensure performance and data integrity.
• Create and maintain Unix shell scripts for automation and deployments.
