Job summary

Priceline Careers in Ontario seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, build and optimize Backend services. You will join a cross-functional agile team, delivering low latency, high-throughput transactions using Core Java and REST APIs.

You'll craft real-time SQL queries, explore cloud deployments on GCP/AWS, and promote Git/GitFlow, CI, and automation testing to improve software quality and speed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of software engineering and development experience.
• Proficient in Core Java with Spring Frameworks.
• Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities.
• Experience with Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud (GCP/AWS).
• Experience with Git and GitFlow.

• Participate in critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business.
• Be part of a cross-functional agile team that continuously experiments, iterates and delivers on new product objectives.
• Showcase your development skills of Core Java programming.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering and development.
• Coding experience with Core Java programming
• Comfort and experience with Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
• Experience leveraging AI coding tools to accelerate workflows (Claude or Cursor preferred).
• Thorough SQL compositions skills for composing queries and analysis.
• An Influencer of the use of Git and Gitflow.
• Experience in Microservices, Kubernetes, Dockers is a big positive.
• Experience with developing on Cloud, especially GCP and AWS.
• Illustrated history of living the values necessary to Priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability and Trust.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.

The salary range for this position is $100,00-120,000 CAD.
