Job summary

Priceline is hiring an Associate Java Full-Stack Developer. The role supports a hybrid model with two days in-office, contributing to backend Java services and frontend React features. You’ll work within an Agile team, building scalable APIs and data-driven components for travel applications.

You’ll collaborate across teams, apply real-time data processing knowledge, and leverage modern tech like Kubernetes and microservices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Core Java.
• Comfort with Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
• 1+ years of experience with React/JavaScript; familiarity with GraphQL.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools.
• Strong SQL composition skills.
• Experience with real-time and batch big data solutions (Spark, Kafka, KSql, Flink, Beam).
• Experience with NoSQL stores (Cassandra, Bigtable, MongoDB).
• Experience in Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker is a plus.

Associate Java Full-Stack Developer

In this role you will get to:

• Participate in mission critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline’s business.

• Showcase your development skills of Core Java programming.
• Gain exposure to full-stack development by helping build user-facing features in React/JavaScript and connecting them with GraphQL APIs.
• Apply your programming skills towards building low latency and high throughput transactional services with continuous integration and automation testing.
• Implement SQL composition skills that collects and queries data for investigation and analysis in real time from our applications.
• Utilize your knowledge to understand our codebase, systems and business requirements to effectively make changes to our applications.
• Effectively collaborate and engage in team efforts, speak up for what you think are the best solutions and be able to converse respectfully and compromise when necessary.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Core Java.
• Comfort and experience with Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
• 1+ years of experience with React/JavaScript, with a basic familiarity or desire to learn GraphQL for data querying.
• Familiarity with using AI-assisted coding tools (like Claude or Cursor) to help write, debug, and learn code faster.
• Thorough SQL compositions skills for composing queries and analysis.
• Deep understanding of modern real-time as well as batch processing big data solutions (Spark/ Kafka/KSql/ Flink/ Apache Beam).
• Experience developing applications that work with NoSQL stores (e.g. Cassandra, Bigtable, MongoDB).
• Experience in Microservices, Kubernetes, Dockers is a big positive.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant. The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 CAD.

Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
