Job summary

Synechron is seeking a highly motivated Java Backend Developer to join our technology team in Canada. You will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices, aligning with Agile practices and cloud deployments.

You will collaborate with architects, product managers, and developers to deliver high-quality solutions, optimize performance, and ensure security and compliance across financial services projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Java back-end development.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Experience with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

We are seeking a highly motivated Java Backend Developer, the ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, databases, and Agile development practices.

Requirements:
You are:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice-to-have: It would be great if you also had:
  • Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging technologies.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture.
  • Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
  • Familiarity with API gateways and service discovery.
  • Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, or WireMock.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design, Clean Architecture, or twelve-factor application principles.
  • Experience working on high-volume, high-availability, or financial services applications.
