Job summary

Fresh Prep in Calgary is hiring a hands-on janitorial associate to keep our production facility clean and compliant with GMP and food-safety standards. This full-time, on-site role requires physical work, reliability, and attention to detail.

You will perform daily cleaning of offices, washrooms, lunchrooms and production areas, manage waste, and support the Janitorial Lead. Competitive hourly wage and benefits after 90 days reflect our inclusive, impact-driven culture.

• Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Clean tables, chairs, sinks, and surfaces.
• Maintain washrooms and docks; manage organic and recycling bins.

Who You Are:

• Hands-On: You have actual experience working as a janitor, cleaner, or in a similar facility cleaning role.

• Safety-Minded: You understand the importance of proper chemical handling, PPE, sanitation, and workplace safety.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Perform daily cleaning of facility areas including offices, lunchrooms, washrooms, handwashing stations, staff rooms, and common areas.
• Empty and clean garbage and recycling bins as required.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Clean tables, chairs, sinks, mirrors, appliances, refrigerators, and other facility surfaces.
• Clean and maintain washrooms, including toilets, sinks, floors, and dispensers.
• Clean and maintain docks, ramps, garbage areas, and exterior areas.
• Wash organic waste bins, recyclable bins, and garbage bins as required.
• Clean dock doors and remove garbage, food, and dust accumulation.
• Remove worn smocks and place them in designated laundry areas.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment.
• Perform sanitizer concentration checks as required.
• Complete cleaning checklists and report any deviations or issues.
• Follow all GMP, food-safety, PPE, chemical-handling, and company requirements.
• Identify and report maintenance, safety, or cleanliness concerns.
• Support the Janitorial Lead and team with daily cleaning priorities.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility.

What We Are Looking For:

• Previous hands-on janitorial or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Experience in a food production, manufacturing, restaurant, warehouse, or other commercial facility is an asset.
• This is a hands-on janitorial position; hotel room housekeeping experience alone is not the primary experience we are looking for.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical cleaning activities throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs (11.3 kg).
• Reliable and punctual attendance is essential.
• Comfortable following cleaning procedures, SOPs, GMPs, and food-safety requirements.
• Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and following proper dilution and safety procedures.

What You Can Expect:

• Hourly wage of $20.65
• Work schedule of Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
