Job summary

Compass Group Canada is hiring a Janitor/Driver to keep buildings clean and orderly, performing heavy cleaning duties and driving duties as part of a dedicated facilities team. The role includes floor care, carpet shampooing, wash of walls and glass, and timely delivery of linen and supplies.

A valid driver's license is required, and you must be able to work independently or as part of a team; overtime is possible under the CBA, with travel and accommodation provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and provide a clean driving record.
• 1+ year of janitorial experience.
• WHMIS Certification is an asset.
• Good command of English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Daily cleaning of public areas, bathrooms, hallways, lobby, and storage rooms.
• Delivery of linen and supplies to storage rooms.
• Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement.
• Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment; sanitize all surfaces.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task.
• Strip, scrub, buff and refinish floors, shampoo carpets.
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.

Position Requirements:

• 1 year valid Driver's License and a clean driving record must be provided
• Will be required to pass a test driving a Ford F150 Pickup truck
• Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
• Pass a Criminal Record Check
• Shift: 11hr/Day
• Rotation: 20 Days On/10 Days Off
