Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a custodian/janitor to maintain cleanliness in our facilities. The role involves heavy cleaning tasks, from floors and restrooms to carpets, with driving responsibilities included.

Candidates should have a valid driver’s license and be able to work 10-hour shifts with a 21-on/7-off rotation. We value reliable team players who can follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties independently when required.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a custodian or janitor is an asset.
  • Must pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Shift: 10hr/Day
  • Rotation: 21 Days on/ 7 Days off

Responsibilities

  • Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans
  • Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures
  • Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement
  • Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces.
  • Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff
  • Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task
  • Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor
  • Strip, scrub, buff and refinish floors, shampoo carpet
  • Driving is required for this position

How you will make an impact

You will be responsible for keeping buildings clean and orderly, and performing heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, washrooms & lunchrooms, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.

As a Custodian/ Janitor, You Will

About You
  • Previous housekeeping/custodian experience is an asset
  • Have a valid Driver’s License
  • WHMIS and BSW Certifications an asset
  • Good command of English language, both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job
Position Requirements

The hourly wage for this position is $22.00. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
