Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Janitor/Driver to maintain clean, orderly facilities and perform heavy cleaning tasks. Driving is required for this position, with shifts of 10 hours and a rotation of 20 days on/10 days off.

The role requires a valid driver's license, good English communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team. Experience in janitorial services is preferred and drug/alcohol tests and a criminal record check may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and provide a clean driving record.
• Previous housekeeping/custodian experience is an asset.
• WHMIS Certification is an asset.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Daily cleaning of public areas, bathrooms, hallways, lobby, and storage rooms.
• Delivery of linen and supplies to storage rooms.
• Dust and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement.
• Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for visitors, and staff
• Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task
• Strip, scrub, buff and refinish floors, shampoo carpet
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor

Additional Position Requirements:

• 1 year valid Driver's License and a clean driving record must be provided
• Will be required to pass a test driving a Ford F150 Pickup truck
• Minimum of 1 year of Janitorial Services
• Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
• Pass a Criminal Record Check
• Shift: 10hr/Day
• Rotation: 20 Days on/10 Days off

The hourly wage for this position is $20.00.Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
