Job summary

ESS Compass is seeking a Janitor/Driver to maintain clean, safe facilities and transport materials as needed. The position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a Ford F150.

You will perform routine janitorial duties, including heavy cleaning, floor care, and waste disposal, while following infection control procedures. Responsibilities include daily cleaning of public areas, delivery of linens, and assisting with moving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Strip, scrub, buff and refinish floors; shampoo carpet.
• Complete tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Move equipment and furniture for cleaning and place back in correct placement.

Description

As the Janitor/Driver you will be responsible for keeping buildings clean and orderly, and performing heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Driving is required for this position.

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans
• Daily cleaning of public areas, bathrooms, hallways, lobby, and storage rooms
• Delivery of linen and supplies to storage rooms
• Dust and damp mops floors following approved procedures
• Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement
• Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for visitors, and staff
• Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task
• Strip, scrub, buff and refinish floors, shampoo carpet
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid drivers license and provide clean driving record
• Previous housekeeping/custodian experience is an asset
• WHMIS Certification is an asset
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job

Additional Position Requirements:

• 1 year valid Driver's License and a clean driving record must be provided
• Will be required to pass a test driving a Ford F150 Pickup truck
• Minimum of 1 year of Janitorial Services
• Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
• Pass a Criminal Record Check
• Shift: 10hr/Day
• Rotation: 20 Days on/10 Days off

The hourly wage for this position is $20.00 .Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
