Job summary

Vanier College Continuing Education is seeking an IT Support Specialist to assist with the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of computer labs and user workstations. You will diagnose issues, provide solutions, and coordinate with staff to ensure reliable access to Internet, email, and applications.

Fluent English and functional French communication abilities are required (tests may be conducted). Knowledge of SCCM, Windows EUC, network basics, and Office 365 is an asset in this role.

Qualifications

• DEC in Computer Science or appropriate specialty, or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent.
• Strong English oral and written communication skills (to be tested);
• Functional French oral and written communication skills (to be tested);
• Knowledge of Microsoft EUC (windows) and the configuration and installation of computers and computer labs (to be tested);
• Knowledge of Internet/Intranet services such as e-mail, web technologies, authentication, and security;
• Knowledge of network technologies, including: cabling, network protocols, configuration and maintenance of network servers, and network security;
• Knowledge of software packaging and deployment technologies (SCCM);
• Strong ability to work with users and find solutions to their computer and network related problems;
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other staff and network users;
• Knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Office 365 (an asset);
• Knowledge and expertise in the educational sector (an asset).
