Job summary

The Ian Martin Group is seeking an IT SAP Functional Consultant to join a CCS team focused on IS-U modules, FI-CA and Billing. You will drive end-to-end SAP project delivery, act as lead consultant, solution architect, and configuration expert for major SAP implementations and ongoing sustainment.

You will ensure standard SAP functionality while delivering necessary customizations and facilitate knowledge transfer to internal teams and stakeholders, including documentation in SAP Solution

IT SAP Functional Consultant

Pay Rate: $95.15/hour, depending on experience

Contract Length: 1 year

Location: Burnaby, British Columbia (open to remote candidates)

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The IT SAP Functional Consultant will to join our clients Customer Care and Billing (CCS) team. In this pivotal role, you will act as a lead consultant, solution architect, and configuration expert for major SAP implementations, system enhancements, and ongoing operational sustainment.

You will focus heavily on SAP Industry Solution for Utilities (IS-U) Customer Service, specifically driving processes related to Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA), Collections Management, Meter Reading, Device Management, and Billing/Invoicing.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership & Delivery
• Lead Full-Cycle Implementations: Guide end-to-end SAP project lifecycles from project preparation, requirements gathering, and fit-gap analysis through to solution design, configuration, cutover, and go-live support.
• Governance & Standards: Ensure all project deliverables and enhancements are executed safely, with high quality, within budget, and on schedule, strictly adhering to standards and industry best practices.
• Solution Architecture: Balance standard SAP functionality with necessary custom enhancements to meet complex business and technical requirements, leveraging deep knowledge of SAP IS-U and CR&B architecture.
• IS-U & CCS Functional Expertise
• Credit & Collections Management: Analyze, complete, and sign off on IS-U Account Management, Credit and Collections-related tickets, change requests, and work packages.
• Core Module Configuration: Perform hands‑on configuration and troubleshoot technical or business process errors in:
• Financial Accounting – Contract Accounts Receivables and Payable (FI-CA) & Collections Management.
• Customer Service, Meter Reading, Device Management, Rate/Tariff Design, and Billing/Invoicing.
• Business Partner Exception Management (BPEM) and Customer Contacts.
• Web self‑service, telephony/IVR, and multi‑channel customer touchpoints.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with business partners to identify process improvements, presenting sustainable, standard‑aligned solution options.
• Sustainment & Knowledge Transfer
• Operations & Maintenance: Execute operational routine sustainment activities and system maintenance independently, taking full ownership of assigned tasks.
• Mentorship: Provide professional guidance, coaching, and knowledge transfer to internal team members and business stakeholders regarding SAP IS-U CCS and CRM functionalities.
• Documentation: Thoroughly document issue resolutions, system configurations, and design enhancements using tools like SAP Solution Manager.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of techno‑functional experience with SAP C4C, including hands‑on configuration and customization.
• Proven expertise in tenant replication, eFlow settings, and mashup configuration within SAP C4C.
• Strong understanding of SAP IS-U (Utilities) processes and their integration with C4C.
• Experience with CIC0 configuration and front‑office process optimization in a customer service environment.
• Proficiency in SAP C4C SDK (Software Development Kit) or PDI (Partner Development Infrastructure) for custom development.
• Familiarity with integration tools such as SAP CPI, PI/PO, or similar middleware.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end‑users.
• Preferred Skills & Experience
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, CRM, or other SAP modules.
• Experience with utilities industry‑specific processes (e.g., smart metering, customer billing).
• Understanding of HTML, JavaScript, or other web technologies for mashup development.
• Prior experience in a consulting role or working with cross‑functional
• Education and Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or a relevant discipline
• Certification in SAP C4C or SAP IS-U ( preferred)

• Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
