Job summary

Synechron, a global consulting firm, is seeking an IT Risk Analyst in Halifax, Canada, to support the Technology Risk & Controls team with access governance across Capital Markets systems. You will review access approvals, investigate discrepancies, and help ensure compliance with risk policies.

The base salary in Halifax ranges CAD 70k–75k per year plus benefits, with flexible hybrid policy and opportunities to learn via Udemy for Business and FinLabs initiatives.

The IT Risk Analyst will support the Technology Risk & Controls team in managing access governance and control validation across Capital Markets systems. The role focuses on reviewing access approvals, identifying potential control violations, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with internal risk policies and procedures.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Halifax, NS is CAD$70k - CAD$75k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Experience performing access reviews, control validation, or reconciliation activities.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred skills:
  • Knowledge of IT risk, governance, and control frameworks.
  • Experience working within financial services or capital markets environments.
  • Familiarity with technology access governance or compliance processes.
