Job summary

City of Airdrie is seeking an IT Business Analyst II for a 15-month term. The role focuses on high-level business analysis, requirements management, and full traceability across IT projects.

Building strong relationships with project teams, sponsors, vendors, and end users is essential to align solutions with city goals. The candidate should have a degree or diploma in a relevant field, 5+ years of IT BA experience, and knowledge of BABoK; municipal government experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires degree or diploma in computer-related field and relevant business analysis certifications.
• Minimum 5 years of IT Business Analyst experience.
• Experience with process re-engineering and capturing use cases.
• Knowledge of BA methodologies (BABoK).
• Municipal government experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with project teams, sponsors, vendors, technical staff and end users to build relationships.
• Analyze, define and document complex business and system requirements with traceability from elicitation to implementation.
• Maintain full requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in vendor demonstrations to ensure alignment with business requirements.
• Document and optimize current and future business processes in collaboration with departments.
• Support implementation activities with validation, configuration, testing and training.
• Bridge stakeholder interests to ensure measurable improvements in efficiency and service delivery.
