Job summary

Hunter Mercantile is seeking an Investment Operations Associate to serve as the operational backbone for a high-performing wealth management practice in Midtown Toronto. You will own the back-office ecosystem, coordinating with the carrying broker to ensure onboarding, trade execution, and compliance run smoothly.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of operations, trade support, or back-office experience within a Canadian wealth management firm or IIROC/CIRO investment dealer
• Direct experience with Dataphile, Croesus, and BBS / CI Investment Services clearing environments is a definite advantage
• Advanced MS Excel skills (data manipulation, reporting) and strong CRM familiarity
• Completion of the CSC is considered an asset; proven operational execution is prioritized

Responsibilities

• Account Onboarding & Custodial Administration: Lead end-to-end client onboarding, ATON account transfers, registration updates, and regulatory compliance clearance (CIRO/IIROC, AML/KYC)
• Portfolio Support Execution: Prepare, input, and verify trade allocations, rebalancing orders, cash transfers, and client distributions (RRIF, TFSA, lump-sum withdrawals)
• Data Reconciliation & Reporting: Utilize Dataphile and Croesus for daily transaction downloads, holding reconciliations, tax slip preparation, and quarterly performance reporting
• Process Optimization & CRM: Maintain full CRM data hygiene, refine operating procedures, and manage secure digital vault files

Investment Operations Associate – Wealth Management & Portfolio Operations

Location: Midtown Toronto (Directly on the Subway Line)

Our client, a well-established portfolio management firm, is seeking an Investment Operations Associate to serve as the operational backbone for a high-performing wealth management practice.

Working directly alongside a tight-knit team of 3 investment professionals within a 30+ person firm, you will fully own the back-office ecosystem, coordinate seamlessly with the carrying broker, and ensure account onboarding, trade execution, and compliance run like clockwork.

Please note: This is a long-term, career-operations role and is not suitable for candidates seeking a pathway to becoming a Wealth Advisor.
