Job summary

The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) Investigator position in Surrey, BC is a Band 4 role within the BC Public Service. The investigator will join a civilian-led team conducting complex investigations into police-related incidents, with certification required and on-call flexibility.

Flexible work options are available, including up to two days at home per week, subject to telework agreements. Applicants must meet Police Act requirements and hold relevant degrees or experience.

Qualifications

• Education/experience closely aligned to police or investigative work.
• Formal credentials in investigation or related fields as specified.
• Experience across criminal, regulatory, or investigative contexts using influence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex high-profile investigations into police-related incidents.
• Collaborate with a diverse team and report to senior leadership.
• Complete mandatory Investigator Certification program and adhere to policies.

6+ years of investigative experience
