Job summary

The Nunavik Police Service is seeking a Sergeant-Investigator to conduct criminal and penal investigations across Nunavik. The role requires rigorous professionalism, sharp investigative judgment, and collaboration with the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions.

You will mentor patrol officers and provide guidance during investigations. Frequent travel to northern villages is required, and you will work under the Lieutenant-Investigator and Captain of Investigations.

Qualifications

• Meet the Police Act requirements to be hired as a police officer in Quebec.
• Successfully completed the basic police investigation training program.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and integrity in line with investigative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and conduct criminal investigations in accordance with laws and directives.
• Prepare investigation plans, analyze evidence and reconstruct events.
• Conduct interviews and interrogations in line with case law and training standards.
• Collaborate with prosecutors and testify in court; mentor patrol officers during investigations.
