Job summary

Centennial College’s People and Equity team is seeking an Investigations Consultant to conduct sensitive investigations involving employees and students within a diverse, student-centered environment. The role coordinates with staff, witnesses, and external agencies, preparing reports and presenting recommendations under the college's policies.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Human Resources, Law, Paralegal, or Investigations (or equivalent).
• Minimum five (5) years of related progressive experience conducting complex investigations.
• Experience in a large institutional environment.
• Knowledge of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) theory and practice, including awareness of racism and discrimination.
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation and policies related to human rights and OHRC OHSA.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and conducting investigations pursuant to HVPP, HR and Student Conduct policies.
• Developing and delivering training on sexual violence, human rights and workplace safety.
• Liaising with external agencies including police authorities.
• Collaborating with College departments in investigations and resolution.
• Responding to crisis situations in a timely and effective manner.
• Preparing investigative reports and outcome letters for sanctions and processes.
• Inputting and updating case data in Case IQ.
• Updating statistics for reporting to management.
