Job summary

Nighthill Recruitment Agency in Markham, Ontario seeks a Senior Manager - Equity Initiatives to lead and coordinate DEI/EDI strategies across the organization, working with staff, leadership, the Board, funders and community partners.

This role will develop and implement initiatives focused on equity for diverse youth populations, including anti-racism programming and supports for 2SLGBTQ+ and Indigenous communities, and will oversee staff training and funding proposals.

Qualifications

• Significant experience (3+ years) leading EDI initiatives.
• Undergraduate degree or diploma in Human Services or equivalent.
• Experience with project planning, communication and execution.
• Experience working with homeless or at-risk youth populations.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and public speaking skills.
• Subject matter expertise in equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Strong relationship-building with stakeholders and funders.
• Proficient in MS Office for reports and records.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of initiatives advancing equity across the organization.
• Coordinate implementation of EDI strategies.
• Engage stakeholders across sector to promote equity for diverse youth.
• Support anti-Black racism, 2SLGBTQ+ and Indigenous initiatives.
• Develop funding proposals and provide reports to executives and boards.
• Coordinate staff training and capacity building.
• Collaborate with consultants advising on EDI matters.
