Location: Fernie, BC – Employment: Permanent, Full-time (30‑40 hours/week). Salary: $36.60/hour. Start date: As soon as possible. On‑call, overtime, early morning, morning, day, evening, shift, weekend, flexible hours. Relocation costs covered.

Requirements
  • Languages: English.
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3–5 years.
  • Ability to supervise more than 20 people.
  • Must work on site – no remote option.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery; resolve work problems; provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality; requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies; develop and implement marketing strategies; study market research and trends; plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses; determine merchandise and services to be sold; resolve customer requests, complaints and supply shortages; locate, select and procure merchandise for resale; manage staff and assign duties; recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers; ensure the perpetual inventory system accurately reflects all product movements, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and disposals; conduct daily audits and variance investigations, identifying root causes such as scanning errors, shrink, and process gaps; lead the store’s cycle count program and maintain compliance with corporate inventory standards; collaborate with department managers to resolve inventory discrepancies and negative on‑hand issues before end‑of‑day; develop and present analytical reports outlining inventory trends, stock performance, and loss patterns; utilize data tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SAP to produce dashboards and actionable insights for management; analyze historical sales and inventory data to forecast replenishment needs, seasonal demand, and product turnover; provide recommendations for inventory optimization, ordering efficiency, and space utilization; oversee documentation and approval of all inventory adjustments, markdowns, and write‑offs; train department leaders and clerks on best practices for inventory accuracy, scanning discipline, and data management; partner with IT and corporate teams to troubleshoot system discrepancies and enhance data flow between store‑level and head office platforms.
