Job description

We’re a team that puts customers first, invests in our people, and takes pride in being part of the local community. If you’re analytical, highly organized, and love digging into data to find and fix problems – this is a role where you can make a real difference.

What’s in it for You
  • Real opportunities to grow and advance within the company
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • Employee discount on retail products after the first three months
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program to support your well-being and that of your family
  • A team culture built on three core values: Customers First, Inspired People, and Community Connection
About the Role

As an Inventory Control Associate, you’ll be the person who keeps our inventory accurate, our pricing up to date, and our stock data trustworthy. You’ll investigate discrepancies, execute cycle counts, manage price changes, and identify opportunities to improve how we track and manage products across the store.

This is a cross-functional role – you’ll work closely with the supply chain team, yard crew, department leads, and the store manager to communicate findings, resolve variances, and drive inventory accuracy initiatives. It suits someone who is self-directed, curious, and comfortable working with data and systems.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Executing product cycle counts according to the cycle count schedule and entering all adjustments and inventory-related data accurately into our systems
  • Investigating product variances, negative on-hand quantities, negative margin discrepancies, and SKU selling issues – and communicating findings to the relevant teams
  • Performing inventory hole counts on the retail floor and making recommendations to address gaps
  • Identifying areas for improvement in inventory accuracy and working with department leads and management to implement solutions
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with the supply chain team, yard crew, department leads, and the store manager to resolve inventory issues and support store-wide initiatives
  • Always working in compliance with WorkSafeBC Standards
What We’re Looking For

Here’s what will set you up for success in this role:

  • Analytical and curious by nature – you enjoy investigating discrepancies and digging into data until you find the root cause
  • Highly organized and task-oriented with superior time management skills and the ability to manage your own workload without close supervision
  • Strong attention to detail – accuracy in data entry, cycle counts, and pricing is critical in this role
  • Proficiency with computers and programs including Outlook, Excel, and Eagle Software (or similar inventory management systems)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – you work cross-functionally and need to communicate findings clearly to a range of colleagues
  • Mature, responsible, and proactive – you identify problems and follow through on solutions
  • Previous experience in inventory control is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of the building industry or retail environment is an asset
