Qualifications

ABOUT THE ROLE


This position manages daily operations of the Branch warehouse and stockroom, including shipping, receiving, stocking, inventory control, compliance, and procurement of assets, parts, tools, equipment, and consumables. Responsibilities include conducting inventory counts, processing invoices in enterprise asset and financial management systems, vendor sourcing, and maintaining stock rotation through purchasing.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING


  • Coordinate requisitioning, purchasing, and receipt of goods, tools, parts, supplies, and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Research and recommend procurement of tools, parts, and supplies, consulting with management and Procurement Office.
  • Review and update specifications for purchased goods and equipment.
  • Ensure warehouse inventory compliance.
  • Obtain and compare vendor quotations, and place orders in accordance with Purchasing By-Law.
  • Investigate invoice discrepancies and communicate with Finance to resolve issues.
  • Maintain supplier and product information files and purchase records.
  • Follow regulations for storage and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Manage daily stockroom operations and inventory levels.
  • Process internal requisitions, arrange deliveries, and record transactions.
  • Receive shipments, record goods received, and distribute or stock appropriately.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR


  • Post-Secondary Certificate/Diploma in Business Administration, Purchasing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of experience in computerized inventory control, shipping, and receiving.
  • Valid certifications for narrow-aisle reach truck and counterbalance forklift, or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license without serious offences.
  • Knowledge of procurement guidelines, legal, customs, freight, and government regulations.
  • Understanding of maintenance repair in electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation fields.
  • Supply chain and full inventory management experience.
  • Proficiency in computerized parts warehouse functions and inventory procedures.
  • Strong record-keeping skills and commitment to safety and organization.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and catalogs for parts identification.
