Job description

Responsibilities

Position Summary: This position is responsible for inventory control and receiving activities. These include inventory cycle counts, resolving inventory discrepancies, and assisting with or organizing physical inventories. The role also ensures the timely and accurate receipt of products to support distribution centre productivity, delivery reliability, and safety objectives.


Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  1. Standard Receiving Practices
    • Assist the Inventory Control team in maintaining productivity, delivery reliability, safety stock levels, receiving schedules, inbound freight maximization, promotion, and inventory turns goals.
    • Identify and address defects received, ensuring they meet acceptable standards.
    • Manage all shipments received into the facility.
    • Maintain standard receiving practices.
    • Ensure all documentation is complete and signed appropriately to protect Martin-Brower from liabilities.
  2. Inventory Management
    • Create purchase orders for centre-ordered products.
    • Assist in communicating and slotting all new items.
    • Maintain on-hold logs, product tagging, and communication.
    • Collaborate with Warehouse, Inventory Control, and Corporate Office to meet targets.
    • Assist with invoicing and coordination of all Branch Transfer shipments.
    • Help prepare and organize Physical Inventory.
  3. Process Audit
    • Assist with cycle counts as per Cycle Count Procedure, including identifying issues, researching, and repairing them.
    • Review on-hold products to verify accuracy, and address issues with Warehouse Manager and Corporate Office.
  4. Special Projects
    • Participate in occasional projects requiring Inventory Control expertise.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain/Logistics or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure independently or in a team.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, accurate, conscientious, and dependable.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to manage customer expectations.
  • Positive attitude setting an example for others.
  • Sense of urgency, multi-tasking, and priority management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Note: This list is not exhaustive.
  • Must pass a post-offer background check.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (JD Edwards preferred).
  • 1-3 years of Inventory Control/Receiving coordination experience.
