EQ Bank is offering an IT Intern position in Toronto as part of the Technology Workplace Services team. The role focuses on managing laptops, phones, and AV equipment, and handling the technology side of staff relocations, while serving as the first contact for tech issues.

You will gain hands-on experience with ITIL-based workflows, ServiceNow, and cross-vendor troubleshooting, supporting a broad range of bank employees throughout the internship term.

Qualifications

  • Working toward a degree/college diploma in computer networking, technical support or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service and technical troubleshooting across common enterprise apps and devices.
  • Ability to follow internal IT procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve Desktop/Laptop/Smartphone issues via phone or ticket system.
  • First point of contact for internal enterprise applications and troubleshooting.
  • Provide high quality support to Bank employees across levels.
  • Manage tickets, SLA adherence, and KB updates with remote troubleshooting.
  • Assist with Move/Add/Change requests and staff relocation logistics.

The Work

Work Term: January - April 2027

The Technology Workplace Services (TWS) Intern manages the company’s laptop, work phones and audio/visual equipment as well as install and maintain the company’s endpoint technologies. In addition to the core functions, the incumbent will also perform the technology side of the relocation of staff and be the first point of contact for all technological issues from both phones and internal ticket system.

The Core Responsibilities!
  • Support of Desktop / Laptop / Smartphone issues from various support channels (phone or ticket system).
  • Be the first point of contact providing solutions to internal enterprise applications.
  • Provide top quality support to all levels of Bank employees.
  • Experience with ITIL-based service desk solutions, such as ServiceNow, Sys-Aid and Atlassian.
  • Ability to leverage multiple vendors to troubleshoot issues efficiently.
  • Maintains the Bank’s audio / visual and teleconferencing equipment.
  • Executes the Move/Add/Change requests of Bank employees and relocation.
  • Maintain, update, and categorize tickets within SLA with procedural follow ups.
  • Maintain the First call resolution above 90% on regular basis.
  • Managing incidents and service requests effectively; ensuring information is captured in the ticketing tool.
  • Continuously improve the internal knowledgebase with common IT issues.
  • Performs remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
  • Assesses recurring issues to create automated processes where possible.
  • Sets up and deploys IT equipment for new employees.
  • Guides users through computer onboarding and upgrading processes.

  • Working towards a degree/college diploma in computer networking, technical support or equivalent is required (Eg. Computer Systems Technology).
  • Experience working in a customer services environment
  • Good technical problem solving & troubleshooting skills
  • Adhere to internal IT procedure, corporate policy and site audit responsibility for all tasks
  • Knowledge of and technical ability to troubleshoot:
  • Windows 11/ Mac issues
  • Microsoft 365 Application issues
  • Browser issues
  • Printer / Scanner issues
  • WiFi issues
  • Smartphones issues (iOS)
  • Miscellaneous computer hardware issues
