Job summary

WSP Canada is offering a Strategic Talent co-op opportunity this Fall to gain hands-on HR experience alongside seasoned professionals and business leaders. You'll contribute to people initiatives that shape the talent strategy across the organization.

You'll work on workforce planning, performance management, engagement, and data analysis, developing business acumen in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for motivated students returning to full-time studies.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, IR, Psychology, Commerce or related field.
  • Must be enrolled in a recognized co-op program and returning to full-time studies after the work term.
  • Demonstrated interest in HR, employee experience, talent management, or organizational development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and share insights.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Strategic Talent team in delivering HR programs aligned with business objectives.
  • Assist with workforce planning, succession planning, performance management, and engagement.
  • Analyze HR data and prepare reports, presentations, and insights for decision-making.
  • Contribute to employee engagement, learning, recognition, and talent development initiatives.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to support HR projects and change management.
  • Assist in reviewing and documenting HR processes, policies, and best practices.
  • Conduct research on talent trends and market practices to support planning.
  • Collaborate with HR team on special projects to strengthen performance.

Your Impact
  • Support the Strategic Talent team in the delivery of HR programs and initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Assist with workforce planning, succession planning, performance management, compensation guidance, employee engagement, and talent development activities.
  • Analyze HR data and prepare reports, presentations, and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to employee engagement, learning, recognition, and talent development initiatives that enhance the employee experience.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to support HR projects and change management activities.
  • Assist in the review and documentation of HR processes, policies, and best practices.
  • Conduct research on talent trends, market practices, and people-related topics to support business planning.
  • Collaborate with members of the HR team on special projects that strengthen organizational performance and support business success.

Compensation
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $20.00 - $30.00
  • MB & ON: $18.50 - $28.00
  • NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $17.50 - $28.00

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
