Job summary

Ausenco in Vancouver is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join the Minerals and Metals team. The role focuses on early-stage studies, design criteria, and structural analysis for mining facilities and infrastructure, with collaboration across drafting and project teams.

You will support the Lead Structural Engineer, prepare technical specifications, and ensure designs meet Canadian codes and standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
5–9 years of experience in a structural design environment, preferably mining & process plant projects.
Proficient in structural analysis/design with SAP2000; knowledge of SFRAME, SAFE, ETABS is a plus.
Registered Professional Engineer in BC or eligible for registration in BC.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support the Lead Structural Engineer in early-stage studies and project phases.
Prepare specifications, design criteria, and material take-offs for studies and projects.
Perform analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry structures and foundations for mining plants or infrastructure.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and report preparation for existing and new structures.
Coordinate with drafting staff for 3D modelling and detailed drawings.
