Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for our Canadian mining and industrial infrastructure team. You will conduct hands-on field inspections at mines and water facilities, assess structural integrity, and lead remediation strategies with a focus on safety and reliability.

Applicants should have CSA code knowledge, 6+ years of experience, and a P.Eng-eligible status. This role involves mentoring juniors and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across projects in Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in civil or structural engineering.
• 6+ years of structural engineering experience focused on asset management and remediation.
• Licensed or eligible for P.Eng in Canada (BC/AB/SK) within 6 months.
• Strong knowledge of CSA S16 and CSA A23.3 structural codes.
• Willingness to perform hands-on field inspections in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

• Asset Management & Field Inspections: perform visual inspections, assess walkways, verify load paths and corrosion, create inspection reports.
• Engineering Response & Remediation: develop repair plans and assessments for heavy industrial and water-retaining structures.
• Project Delivery: lead engineering tasks from scoping to construction and commissioning, ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Client and Stakeholder Collaboration: work with clients to tailor structural solutions and coordinate with internal teams.
• Business Development: maintain client relationships and contribute to proposal efforts.
• Compliance and Safety: ensure assessments meet regulatory expectations and manage risk.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: adopt new tech and methods to improve outcomes.
