Job summary

Associated Engineering in Kelowna is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to lead bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation projects with support from senior staff. You will contribute to design of municipal and highway bridges and earth retaining structures, while coordinating tender packages and MMCD-based contract administration.

The role requires 4+ years of bridge engineering experience and registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of structural bridge engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer registration with EGBC or eligibility.
• Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Leadership potential and willingness to grow into technical leadership or project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation projects for municipal and highway bridges.
• Design of concrete rehabilitation for municipal bridges.
• Design of earth retaining structures and related components.
• Prepare tender packages and develop supplementary technical specifications for MMCD.

What you’ll do:

Lead bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation projects with the support of senior staff and further develop proficient skills in all areas of project delivery, including:

• Inspection and assessment of existing bridge structures for municipal clients.
• Design of concrete rehabilitation for municipal bridges.
• Design of municipal and highway bridges.
• Design of earth retaining structures.
• Tender package preparation including developing supplementary technical specifications for use with the MMCD contract document framework.
• Contract administration in accordance with MMCD.
• This role may be client facing and occasional travel and site reviews may be required.

• Registered, or eligible for registration, as an Professional Engineer with EGBC.
• 4+ years of structural bridge engineering experience.
• Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
