Job summary

Associated Engineering invites a seasoned Structural Engineer to join the Calgary office, focusing on water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects. The role sits within a collaborative Structural Group that values technical excellence, sustainable design, and community impact.

You will contribute to analysis, design, reporting, and documentation while growing within a patient, mentoring environment that supports professional development and flexible hybrid work arrangements in Canada.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered, or eligible for registration with APEGA.
• 4+ years’ progressive experience in Structural Engineering.
• Experience with concrete water retaining structures is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support the structural team in analysis, design, evaluation and preparation of calculations and drawings.
• Prepare technical reports following inspections, analysis, modelling and design calculations.
• Prepare proposals, bid and contract documentation.
• Monitor, control and report project status internally and externally.
• Aid in financial arrangements for projects including fee forecasting and allocation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting the structural team in analysis, design, evaluation and preparation of calculations and drawings.
• Preparing technical reports following inspections, technical analysis, modelling, and design calculations.
• Preparing proposals, bid and contract documentation.
• Monitoring, controlling, and reporting project status internally and externally.
• Aiding in financial arrangements for projects including fee forecasting, preparation, and allocation.

Does this sound like you?

• An undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered, or eligible for registration with APEGA.
• 4+ years’ progressive experience in Structural Engineering.
• Technical expertise in the design and construction of concrete water retaining structures is an asset.
• Experience with SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE software is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage project budget and schedule.
• Planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Committed team player and highly self-motivated.
• This position will require occasional travel.
• Valid driver’s license.
