Job summary

Associated Engineering seeks an experienced Intermediate Structural Engineer in Kelowna to lead bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation projects with senior staff support. You will work on municipal and highway bridges, including earth retaining structures, with travel as needed.

The role requires a PE (EGBC) or eligibility, 4+ years in structural bridge engineering, and strong communication and organizational skills. Hybrid work arrangement offered with competitive compensation.

In this role you will be responsible for bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation projects. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team active on structural projects with a focus on the bridge sector.

What you’ll do:

Lead bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation projects with the support of senior staff and further develop proficient skills in all areas of project delivery, including:

  • Inspection and assessment of existing bridge structures for municipal clients.
  • Design of concrete rehabilitation for municipal bridges.
  • Design of municipal and highway bridges.
  • Design of earth retaining structures.
  • Tender package preparation including developing supplementary technical specifications for use with the MMCD contract document framework.
  • Contract administration in accordance with MMCD.
  • This role may be client facing and occasional travel and site reviews may be required.
  • Does this sound like you?
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as an Professional Engineer with EGBC.
  • 4+ years of structural bridge engineering experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
  • Leadership potential.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
