Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking an Intermediate Highway Designer/Engineer to take ownership of complex highway projects in Ontario. Based in Mississauga, Ottawa, or Thornhill, you will work with top professionals and employ OpenRoads, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and AutoTurn to deliver safe, effective transportation solutions.

You bring a Civil Engineering degree, 5–10 years of highway design experience, and ideally a P.Eng or CET.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 5–10 years highway/roadway design experience.
• P.Eng or CET designation is an asset.
• Experience with Design-Build/P3 projects is an asset.
• Knowledge of Ontario standards and design manuals.
• Familiarity with OpenRoads and CPS/HICO is an asset.
• BIM experience is an asset.
• Strong communication and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Delivery: design highways and drainage using advanced tools.
• Field Engagement: participate in site visits to assess conditions.
• Design & Analysis: prepare alignments, geometrics, cost estimates, reports.
• Collaborate Across Disciplines: coordinate inputs from multiple teams.
• Project Planning: develop level-of-effort estimates and schedules.
• Proposal Support: contribute to proposals and innovations.
• Quality Assurance: review designs for accuracy and compliance.
• Mentorship: guide junior team members.
