Job summary

BBA Consultants seeks an intermediate process control engineer to join our Thunder Bay office or our Sudbury office to support growth in Central Canada. You’ll be involved in all phases of projects, from front-end studies to field implementation, with a focus on detailed engineering.

The ideal candidate holds an electrical engineering degree, 4+ years of mining/energy experience, and Ontario P.Eng. registration.

Qualifications

• University degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Over 4 years of mining or energy engineering experience (consulting preferred)
• Registered P.Eng. in Ontario, Canada
• Experience with process control design, programming, integration and commissioning
• Knowledge of P&IDs, industrial control systems/networks and engineering design requirements
• Strong communication, organization and technical leadership skills
• Valid driver’s licence
• Willingness to travel for site work, inspections, commissioning and start-ups

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering work packages for major process control systems in mining and energy projects
• Execute instrumentation, automation and control scopes while supporting budgets, schedules and project delivery
• Lead development of engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, specifications, schematic drawings, network systems and panel designs
• Design, integrate, program and commission PLC, HMI, DCS and industrial communication systems
• Build strong client relationships and provide technical direction and mentorship to junior team members
• Contribute to BBA initiatives and foster a positive culture in the Thunder Bay office while delivering high-quality work
